Volkswagen Announces Super Efficient 68.9mpg Passat BlueMotion for the UK
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, a new generation of fuel efficient Passat BlueMotion is available for order today in Britain, and the first models are expected to hit showrooms in late July. BlueMotion versions of the seventh generation of the Passat (not to be confused with the American model), which itself was launched in Europe in January, offered in both sedan and station wagon format with prices starting at £ 19,875 and £ 21,180 respectively.
Passat BlueMotion is powered by a modified version of the 1.6-liter common-rail diesel VW engines of 105 hp with a six-speed manual transmission. The reduction of fuel consumption, Volkswagen engineers equipped with an automatic stop / start system and battery renewal and revised to reduce aerodynamic drag, rolling resistance tires, lower suspension, 15 mm anterior and 7.5 mm in the rear, different grille and bottom panels.
Salon is equipped with a compact, rear spoiler, while both body styles featured lightweight and aerodynamic 16-inch steel wheels fitted with 17-inch "Buenos Aires" alloy wheels are optional.
Together these measures result in a combined fuel economy of 68.9 km / l UK (57.3 U.S. mpg or 4.1 l/100 km) to the salon and 65.7 mpg (54.7 kilometers per liter or U.S. 4 , 3 l/100 km) property, and CO2 emissions of 109 g / km and 113 g / km, respectively.
Standard features in all variants BlueMotion includes curtain airbags, ESP, 'Climatic' air conditioning, power windows, electronic parking brake, RCD 310 radio / CD player and Multi-Device Interface (MDI) connection for your iPod.
